'मद्यपान आणि धुम्रपान आरोग्यासाठी हानिकारक आहे' अशी सूचना आपण सिनेमातील संबंधित दृश्याच्या खाली झळकताना पाहतो. मात्र, या दृश्याच्या चित्रीकरणासाठी त्या सिनेमातील पात्रांच्या अभिनयाचा खरा कस लागतो. तरुणाईवर आधारित असलेल्या पांडुरंग जाधव दिग्दर्शित आगामी 'ड्राय डे' सिनेमातदेखील असाच एक प्रयोग करण्यात आला. अभिनयात नैसर्गिकपणा आणण्यासाठी 'ड्राय डे' च्या कलाकारांना 'दारू' प्यावी लागली असल्याची ही पडद्यामागील गोष्ट नुकतीच समोर आली.
आनंदसागर प्रॉडक्शन हाऊस प्रस्तुत आणि संजय पाटील यांची निर्मिती असलेल्या या सिनेमाचे नाव 'ड्राय डे' जरी असले तरी, मद्यधुंद अवस्थेतील तरुणाई या सिनेमाच्या ट्रेलरमध्ये आपल्याला पाहायला मिळते. चित्रपटातील हा सीन चित्रित करण्यासाठी दिग्दर्शकाला तारेवरची कसरत करावी लागली होती. कारण, दारूच्या नशेत असणाऱ्या चार मित्रांचे संवाद आणि त्यांचे हावभाव वास्तविक वाटेल असा अभिनय कलाकारांकडून सादर होत नव्हता. अनेकवेळा प्रयत्न करूनदेखील ऋत्विक केंद्रे, चिन्मय कांबळी आणि कैलास वाघमारे या कलाकारांच्या अभिनयात जिवंतपणा येत नसल्याकारणामुळे अखेर पांडुरंग जाधव यांनी त्यांना दारू पाजण्याचा जालीम उपाय शोधला. अचंबित करणारी गोष्ट म्हणजे, दारू प्यायल्यानंतर या तिघांनी आपापला अभिनय चोख सादर करत, सीन वनटेक पूर्णदेखील केला.

सिनेमाच्या कथानकाला न्याय मिळवून देण्यासाठी, अश्याप्रकारचे अनेक प्रयोग यापूर्वीदेखील करण्यात आले आहेत. शिवाय, त्यासाठी कलाकारदेखील धाडसी पाऊल उचलण्यास केव्हाही तयार असतात. 'ड्राय डे' सिनेमातदेखील हाच प्रयत्न करण्यात आला असल्यामुळे, हा सिनेमा दर्जेदार अभिनयाने परिपूर्ण आहे, असेच म्हणावे लागेल. येत्या १३ जुलै रोजी प्रदर्शित होत असलेल्या या सिनेमात पार्थ घाटगे, मोनालिसा बागल, आयली घिए, सानिका मुतालिक या तरुण कलाकारांची फौजदेखील आहे. मराठी चित्रपटसृष्टीतल्या या आगळ्या वेगळ्या 'ड्राय डे' चे लिखाण दिग्दर्शक पांडुरंग जाधव यांनीच केले असून, नितीन दीक्षित यांनी पटकथा व संवाद लिहिले आहेत. प्रेक्षकांसाठी हा ‘ड्राय डे’मनोरंजनाचा बंपर ‘डे’ठरणार आहे.
