‘काय गो, काय करतंस?’किंवा‘तुका-माका, हय-खय’हे शब्द कानी पडले, कि समोरचा व्यक्ती मालवणी आहे हे हमखास कळते. मालवणी माणसांचा प्रेमळ आणि तितकाच असलेला मिष्कील स्वभाव त्यांच्या बोलीभाषेतून व्यक्त होत असतो. म्हणूनच तर, नारळासारखे बाहेरून टणक पण आतून गोड असलेल्या या मालवणी माणसांवर आधारित 'रेडू' हा राज्य पुरस्कारप्राप्त सिनेमा लवकरच प्रदर्शित होत आहे. लँडमार्क फिल्मच्या विधि कासलीवाल प्रस्तूत आणि ब्लिंक मोशन पिक्चर्स प्रायव्हेट लिमिटेड सह नवल फिल्म्सचे नवल सारडा यांची निर्मिती असलेल्या या सिनेमाचे सागर छाया वंजारी यांनी दिग्दर्शन केले आहे.
मालवणी संस्कृतीचा सार या सिनेमाला लाभला असल्याकारणामुळे, स्थानिक कलाकारांची मोठी फळीच आपल्याला यात दिसून येणार आहे. मालवणी बोलीभाषा अवगत असलेल्या तब्बल ५५ कलाकारांचा यात समावेश असून. या सिनेमातील भूमिकेसाठी त्यांना विशेष एक महीन्याचे प्रशिक्षणदेखील देण्यात आले होते. एवढेच नव्हे तर, 'रेडू' सिनेमा ६०-७०च्या दशकातला असल्याकारणामुळे, तो काळ मोठ्या पडद्यावर सादर करण्यासाठी रेडूच्या टीमला विशेष तजवीजदेखील करावी लागली होती. कारण यावेळचे मालवण आधुनिक झाले असून, आज प्रत्येक गाव प्रसारमाध्यमे आणि विद्युत जाळ्यांमुळे एकमेकांना जोडली गेली आहेत. त्यामुळे दूरवर पसरलेल्या विजेच्या तारा तसेच दूरदर्शनचे अँटीने दिसू नयेत, यासाठी संपूर्ण टीमला चीत्रीकरणासाठी घनदाट झाडी असलेल्या अज्ञात जागी सेट उभा करावा लागला होता. चहुबाजूने जंगल आणि निर्मनुष्य अशी ती जागा असल्याकारणामुळे चित्रीकरण संपेपर्यंत संपूर्ण टीमला बाहेरील जगाची संपर्क करण्याचे कोणतेच मध्यम तेथे उपलब्ध होत नव्हते. अश्यावेळी मग फोनवर बोलायचे असल्यास, नेट्वर्किंग क्षेत्रात येण्यासाठी किमान दोन तास तरी लांब शहरात जावे लागे. याप्रकारे 'रेडू' च्या सर्व टीमने अश्या प्रतिकूल परिस्थितीमध्ये आपापले काम अचूक पूर्ण करत,सिनेमाला योग्य न्याय मिळवून दिला.

'रेडू' म्हणजे 'रेडियो' वर अमाप प्रेम करणाऱ्या ७० च्या दशकातील एका सामान्य ग्रामीण युवकाची कथा या सिनेमात मांडण्यात आली आहे. त्यावेळी गावात टीव्ही पोहोचला नसल्यामुळे रेडूला अधिक महत्व होते. आणि त्यामुळेच 'रेडू' बद्दलची ग्रामस्थांमधील उत्सुकता आणि कुतूहल गमतीदार पद्धतीने या सिनेमात मांडण्यात आले आहेत. शशांक शेंडे आणि छाया कदम हे दोन मातव्वर कलाकार या सिनेमाच्या निमित्ताने प्रथमच एकत्र येत असून, यात त्यांची प्रमुख भूमिका आहे. तसेच गौरी कोंगे, विनम्र भाबल आणि मृण्मयी सूपल या कलाकारांचीदेखील यात भूमिका आहे. ५५ व्या राज्य चित्रपट तसेच दादासाहेब फाळके पुरस्कार सोहळ्यात सर्वोत्कृष्ट चित्रपटाचा‘रेडू’या सिनेमाने मान पटकावला असून, राज्य शासनाच्या वैयक्तित ६ पुरस्कारांचादेखील हा सिनेमा मानकरी ठरला आहे. संजय नवगिरे कथा पटकथा लिखित, येत्या १८ मे रोजी प्रदर्शित होत असलेला‘रेडू’हा सिनेमा गावची आस लागणाऱ्या सर्वांसाठी कोकणपर्यटनाची पर्वणीच ठरणार आहे.
