केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालयाने स्थापन केलेल्या समितीने ऑक्टोबर महिन्यात कोव्हिडची तिसरी लाट येण्याची शक्यता वर्तवली आहे.

राष्ट्रीय आपत्ती प्रबंधन संस्थेच्या अंतर्गत तज्ज्ञांची समिती स्थापन करण्यात आली होती.

या समितीने लहान मुलांसाठी उत्तम सोयीसुविधा निर्माण करण्यावर भर दिला तसंच लहान मुलांनाही मोठ्या माणसांइतकाच धोका असल्याचं सांगितलं आहे.

'कोव्हिड-19- थर्ड वेव्ह- चिल्ड्रन व्हल्नरेबिलिटी अँड रिकव्हरी' या अहवालात असंही नमूद केलं आहे की या लाटेत मुलांना संसर्ग झाला तर त्यांच्यासाठी योग्य त्या सुविधा उपलब्ध नाहीत.

डॉ.एम.वली दिल्लीच्या सर गंगाराम इस्पितळात वरिष्ठ डॉक्टर आहेत. त्यांनी या अहवालावर चिंता व्यक्त केली.

ते म्हणाले, "भारतात लहान मुलांची संख्या एक तृतीयांश आहे. अजूनही त्यांना लस मिळालेली नाही. त्यामुळे वैज्ञानिकांना वाटणारी काळजी स्वाभाविक आहे. कारण मोठ्यांच्या तुलनेत लहान मुलं कमी आजारी पडतात.

लहान मुलांसाठी पायाभूत सुविधा तितक्याशा प्रमाणात उपलब्ध नाहीत त्यामुळे आता त्याची उणिव जाणवत आहे. म्हणूनच सतर्क राहण्याच्या सूचना दिल्या जात आहेत."

गेल्या काही महिन्यांपूर्वी इंडियन अॅकॅडमी ऑफ पेडियाट्रिक्स ने सांगितलं की लहान मुलांना कोव्हिडचा धोका जास्त संभवतो.मात्र तिसऱ्या लाटेत लहान मुलांना संक्रमण होण्याची शक्यता कमी आहे.

IAP च्या मते तिसऱ्या लाटेत लहान मुलांना संसर्ग होईल या दाव्याला कोणताही पुरावा नाही.

याच मुद्द्याला डॉ. वलीसुद्धा दुजोरा देतात. ते सांगतात की जेव्हा कोरोनाची पहिली लाट आली तेव्हा आम्ही मुलांना दिल्या जाणाऱ्या बीसीजी लशीचा उल्लेख केला होता. भारतातली मुलं मातीत खेळतात. त्यांचं लसीकरण वेळेवर होतं. हेही आम्ही सांगण्याचा प्रयत्न केला होता. त्यामुळे बीसीजी लशीने संरक्षण मिळेल असं आम्हाला वाटलं होतं.

ते सांगतात की मुलांना वेळेवर लशी मिळाव्यात याची पालकांनी काळजी घ्यायला हवी.

12-18 या वयोगटातील मुलांना ऑगस्टमध्ये कोव्हिडची लस देण्याची सुरुवात होऊ शकते असंही या अहवालात म्हटलं आहे.

ड्रग कंट्रोलर ऑफ इंडियाने झायडस कॅडिला च्या आपत्कालीन वापराला मंजुरी दिली आहे. त्यानंतर 12-18 या वयोगटातील मुलांना लस देण्यास लवकरच सुरुवात होऊ शकते.

याच अहवालात AIIMS चे संचालक रणदीप गुलेरिया यांच्या अहवाल्याने नमूद केलं आहे की भारत बायोटेक ची कोव्हॅक्सिन भारतात सप्टेंबर महिन्यापासून उपलब्ध होऊ शकते.

सध्या 2 ते 18 या वयोगटातील मुलांसाठी ट्रायलची माहिती येण्याची शक्यता आहे. जेव्हा फायझर कंपनीच्या लसीला परवानगी मिळेत तेव्हा तो सुद्धा लहान मुलांसाठी एक पर्याय होऊ शकतो. जगभरात फायझर ही अशी एकमेव अशी लस आहे जी लहान मुलांना दिली जात आहे

लहान मुलांना लस देणं हा कोरोनाविरुद्धच्या युद्धातला एक मैलाचा दगड आहे, मुलं अभ्यास चालू करू शकतील आणि शाळेतही जाऊ शकतील.

मुलांमधील प्रतिकारक्षमता

पद्मश्री पुरस्काराने सन्मानित डॉ.वली सांगतात की परदेशी मुलांच्या तुलनेत भारतातील मुलांची रोगप्रतिकार क्षमता कितीतरी पटीने जास्त आहे.

मात्र ते शाळा न सुरू करण्याची ताकीद देतात. अनेक पालक घरी मुलांचा सर्वांगीण विकास होत नसल्याची तक्रार घेऊन येत असल्याचं सांगतात.

ते सांगतात की पालक घरात राहुनसुद्धा अनेक उपक्रम करवून घेऊ शकतात. तसंच ते सांगतात की शाळेतील सर्व स्तरातील कर्मचाऱ्यांचं लसीकरण व्हायला हवं. मुलांमधील रोगप्रतिकार क्षमता वाढवण्यावर भर देण्याससुद्धा ते सांगतात. त्यासाठी अनेक पावलं उचलण्याचा ते सल्ला देतात.

त्यांच्या मते स्वच्छता अतिशय महत्त्वाची आहे. त्यात घरी आल्यावर तोंड, हात पाय धुणं अनिवार्य असायला हवं.घरात जोडे चप्पल नको तसंच उन्हाळ्यात घरी येऊन अंघोळ करण्याचा ते सल्ला देतात.

याशिवाय

घरात आजारी लोक आणि लहान मुलांना दूर ठेवा.

लहान मुलांना जंक फुडपासून दूर ठेवा आणि त्यापासून होणाऱ्या तोट्याची कल्पना द्या

मुलांचं लसीकरण वेळेवर व्हायला हवं. हल्ली इन्फ्लुएन्झाचीही लस देतात. त्यामुळे कोव्हिडपासून बचाव होऊ शकतो.

मुलांना मास्क घालण्याची सवय लावा

मुलांना आता लगेच शाळेत पाठवू नका

भारतातल्या मुलांमध्ये प्रथिनांची कमतरता दिसते. त्यामुळे ज्या कुटुंबात अंडे खाल्ले जातात त्यांनी मुलांनाही अंडं द्यावं.

वरण आणि सोयाबीन हे प्रथिनांचे स्रोत आहेत.

मुलांना दूध पिण्याची आणि पनीर खाण्याची सवय लावा.

नाचणी, मका, चणे, सत्तू यांचं सूप किंवा हलवा तयार करून लहान मुलांना द्या आणि लहान मुलांना याचा पराठा द्या.

व्हिटॅमिन सी साठी लिंबू-पाणी द्या आणि फळं खाऊ घाला. जे व्हिटॅमिनचे स्रोत आहेत ते मुलांना द्यायला हवेत. कोणत्याही आजारापासून रक्षण करण्यासाठी रोगप्रतिकारशक्ती वाढवण्यावर ते भर देतात.
