भारतात सेक्सचं कुतूहल तर सर्वांनाच आहे. मात्र, त्याविषयी बोलायला लोक कचरतात. पुरूष मंडळी तरी याविषयावर आपली मतं व्यक्त करतात. मात्र, एखाद्या स्त्रीने तिचं मत मांडलं तर तिच्याकडेच वाईट नजरेने बघितलं जातं.

लेखक हेनरी टी. ग्रीली म्हणतात की येणाऱ्या काळात 20 ते 40 वर्षं वयाची सुदृढ जोडपी प्रयोगशाळेत गर्भधारणा करण्याला पसंती देतील. ते बाळाला जन्म देण्यासाठी नाही तर शारीरिक गरज आणि आनंद मिळवण्यासाठी संभोग करतील. सेक्स न करताही बाळाला जन्म दिला जाऊ शकत असेल तर सेक्सची गरजच काय? स्त्री आणि पुरूष यांची शारीरिक गरज पूर्ण करणं आणि त्यांच्यातलं नातं अधिक घट्ट करणं, हे सेक्सचं उद्दिष्ट आहे. मात्र, या कार्यात धर्म मोठा अडथळा आहे. प्रत्येकच धर्माने संभोगावर अनेक निर्बंध लादले आहेत आणि त्यासाठी कठोर नियम आणि अटी सांगितल्या आहेत. ख्रिश्चन धर्माने तर केवळ बाळाला जन्म देण्यासाठी संभोग करण्याची परवानगी दिलेली आहे.

शारीरिक सुख आणि आनंदासाठी संभोग केल्यास ते अनैतिक असल्याचं म्हटलं आहे. मात्र, ख्रिश्चन धर्मातल्याच सोलोमन सॉन्ग या एका जुन्या पुस्तकात भावनोत्कट संभोगाला उत्तम असल्याचं म्हटलं आहे. इतकंच नाही तर संभोग ही प्रियकर आणि प्रेयसी यांच्यातली खाजगी बाब असल्याचं म्हटलंय. तिथे पती-पत्नी असा उल्लेख नाही.

ग्रीसचे प्रसिद्ध तत्त्वज्ञ अरस्तू याविषयावर सांगतात की प्रेम कामेच्छेचा शेवट आहे. म्हणजेच दोघांमध्ये प्रेम असेल तर शरीरसंबंध ठेवून त्याची उद्दिष्टपूर्ती होते. त्यांच्यामते सेक्स साधारण बाब नाही. तर एखाद्यावर प्रेम करणे आणि त्याच्याकडून प्रेम मिळवण्यासाठीची आवश्यक आणि सन्मानजनक बाब आहे. याउलट एक अमेरिकी समाजशास्त्रज्ञ डेव्हिड हॅलपेरीन यांचं म्हणणं आहे की संभोग केवळ संभोगासाठी असतो. त्यात गरज पूर्ण करणं किंवा दोघांमधलं नातं अधिक घट्ट करणं, याचा संबंध नसतो.

संभोग म्हणजे काय?

बदलत्या काळानुरूप आज केवळ मानवी संबंधच बदललेले नाहीत तर शरीर संबंधाविषयी लोकांचं मत आणि नात्याविषयीचे विचारही बदलत आहेत. 2015 साली अमेरिकेतल्या सॅन डिएगो विद्यापीठातल्या प्राध्यापिका जीन एन ट्विंग यांनी एका रिसर्च पेपरमध्ये म्हटलं होतं की 1970 ते 2010 या काळात अमेरिकेतले नागरिक लग्न न करता लैंगिक संबंध ठेवणं स्वीकारू लागले होते.

नव्या पीढीला सामाजिक बंधनांमध्ये अडकलेली संशोधक असलेल्या ट्विंग यांनी सांगितल्याप्रमाणे लैंगिकतेविषयीच्या नैतिकतेकते काळानुरूप बदल होत असतात आणि पुढेही होतील. आता तर हे बदल इतक्या झपाट्याने होत आहेत की त्यासाठी आपण सज्जही नाही. शारीरिक संबंध केवळ स्त्री आणि पुरूष या दोघांमध्ये नसतात. लेस्बियन आणि गे संबंधांनाही अनेक देशांनी मान्यता द्यायला सुरुवात केली आहे. ही मानसिक किंवा शारीरिक विकृतीही नाही. मात्र, धार्मिक आणि सामाजिक दोन्ही स्वरुपात याला अनैतिक आचरण म्हटलेलं आहे.

यासंबंधी नुकताच 140 देशांमध्ये एक अभ्यास करण्यात आला. त्यात असं आढळलं की 1981 ते 2014 या काळात एलजीबीटी समुदाला स्वीकार करण्याचा दर 57 टक्क्यांनी वाढला आहे. यात मीडिया, वैद्यकीय अहवाल आणि मनोवैज्ञानिक संस्थांच्या सकारात्मक सहकार्याने मोलाची मदत केली आहे. याशिवाय आज पॉर्न बघण्याचं फॅड वाढलंय. त्यावरून लोकांमध्ये संभोगाची इच्छी किती वाढली आहे, हे स्पष्ट होतं. पॉर्न बघितल्याने काही मिळो अथवा न मिळो मात्र, कामेच्छा बऱ्यापैकी शांत होते.

सेक्सही बदललं आहे

जानकारांच्या मते येणाऱ्या काळात सेक्स अधिक डिजिटल आणि सिंथेटिक होणार आहे. इतकंच नाही तर भविष्यात सेक्सचेही नवनवीन प्रकार समोर येऊ शकतात. सध्यातरी नैसर्गिकरित्या बाळ जन्माला घालू न शकणारी जोडपीच टेस्ट ट्युब आणि आयव्हीएफ तंत्रज्ञानाचा वापर करत आहेत. मात्र, येणाऱ्या काळात असंही चित्र असेल की सगळेच या तंत्रज्ञानाचा वापर करतील. नराचे शुक्राणु आणि मादीची अंडी एकत्र येऊन गर्भधारणा होते. मात्र, गे किंवा लेस्बियन संबंधांमध्ये हे शक्य नाही. त्यामुळे अशी जोडपी अपत्यप्राप्तीसाठी नव्या तंत्रज्ञानाचा मोठ्या प्रमाणावर वापर करत आहेत. बॉलीवुडमध्येही याची अनेक उदाहरणं आहेत.

कमिटमेंट आणि लग्नासारख्या संबंधांविषयीदेखील नवनवीन संकल्पना समोर येत आहेत. आज विज्ञानाने अनेक आजारांवर मात केली आहे. त्यामुळे मानवाचं सरासरी आयुष्यमानही वाढलं आहे. 1960 ते 2017 या काळात माणसाचं सरासरी आयुष्यमान 20 वर्षं वाढलं आहे. एका अंदाजानुसार 2040 पर्यंत यात आणखी 4 वर्षांची भर पडू शकते. अमेरिकन जीववैज्ञानिक आणि भविष्यवेत्ते स्टिवेन ऑस्टॅड यांचं म्हणणं आहे की येणाऱ्या काळात कदाचित मनुष्य 150 वर्षंसुद्धा जगू शकतो. इतक्या दीर्घ आयुष्यात एकाच जोडीदारासोबत शरीर संबंध ठेवणं कठीण असेल.

त्यामुळे तो विशिष्ट कालावधीने आपला सेक्शुअल पार्टनर बदलेल. याची सुरुवातही झाली आहे. मोठ्या शहरांमध्ये अशी बरीच उदाहरणं दिसतात. घटस्फोटाचं प्रमाण वाढलं आहे. 2013च्या एका सर्वेक्षणानुसार अमेरिकेत प्रत्येक दहा जोडप्यामधल्या एकाचं तरी दुसरं किंवा तिसरं लग्न असतं. येणाऱ्या काळात कमिटमेंट आणि वैवाहिक आयुष्य याविषयीच्या अनेक नव्या संकल्पना रुजू शकतात. काळानुरूप मनुष्य प्राण्यात बदल झाले आहेत आणि यापुढेही होतील. आता आपले विचार बदलण्याची वेळ येऊन ठेपली आहे.
