"ही माणुसकी आम्ही इतर कुठंही पाहिली नाही. पैसे न घेता इतकी मदत करणं हे फक्त कोल्हापूर मध्येच घडू शकतं."

हे उद्गार आहेत एनडीआरएफचे प्रमुख नितेश कुमार यांचे. पुराने वेढलेल्या कोल्हापूरला वाचवण्यासाठी आलेल्या एनडीआरएफच्या जवानांना कोल्हापूरकरांच्या माणुसकीचंही दर्शन झालं.

मुसळधार पाऊस आणि अलमट्टी धरणातील वाढत्या पाण्यामुळे कोल्हापूरला पुराचा जोरदार फटका बसला. बघता बघता हाहा:कार माजला. हजारो लोकांना आपलं घरदार नेसल्या कपड्यांनिशी सोडावं लागलं. अनेक गावं चाहूबाजूंनी पाण्याने वेढल्याने एनडीआरएफच्या जवानांनी प्रयत्नांची पराकाष्ठा करून बचावकार्य केलं.

गेल्या दहा दिवसांपासून एनडीआरएफची पथकं बचावकार्य करण्यासाठी कोल्हापुरात आहेत.

एकीकडे अस्मानी संकटांशी झुंजत असणाऱ्या कोल्हापूरकरांनी आपली माणुसकी सोडली नाही. याचा प्रत्यय एनडीआरएफच्या जवानांनाही आला.

अनेक अनुभव गाठीशी आहे, मात्र कोल्हापूरमध्ये मात्र वेगळा अनुभव आल्याचं एनडीआरएफचे जवान सांगतात.

नितेश कुमार हे एनडीआरएफचे प्रमुख आहेत. जयसिंगपूर इथं बोलताना ते म्हणाले, कठीण परिस्थितीत इथले लोक माणुसकी कशी जपतात हे डोळ्यांनी पाहिलं.

"ही माणुसकी आम्ही इतर कुठेही पाहिली नाही. पैसे न घेता इतकी मदत करणं हे फक्त कोल्हापूरमध्येच घडू शकतं," असंही नितेश कुमार कोल्हापूरकरांबद्दल म्हणाले.

जिथं जीवाचा भरवसा नव्हता, काय होईल हे माहीत नव्हतं अशा वेळी धावून आलेल्या जवानांनी आपली रक्षा केल्याची भावना इथं प्रत्येकाच्या मनात आहे आणि म्हणूनच तुम्ही खरे रक्षणकर्ते सांगत कोल्हापुरातल्या मुलींबाळीनी या जवानानांच राखी बांधून प्रेम आणि आदर व्यक्त केला.

विशेषत: कोल्हापूरकरांबद्दल बोलायचं झाल्यास, अस्मानी संकटाशी झुंजताना कोल्हापूरकर डगमगले नाहीत. पुराचं पाणी ओसरल्यावर घर, व्यवसाय पुन्हा नव्याने सुरू करण्यासाठी सगळे तयारीला लागलेत.

सोशल मीडियाचा त्यासाठी आधार घेतला जात आहे. स्वतःहून वेगवेगळ्या मदतीसाठी पुढे येणाऱ्यांनी सोशल मीडियाच्या माध्यमातून त्यांचे संदेश व्हायरल केले आहेत.

प्रशासनाची वाट न पाहता स्वच्छतेची जबाबदारी स्वतःहून घेत एकमेकांना मदत करण्यात येतेय. कोल्हापूरकरांच्या या स्वभावाच सगळीकडे कौतुक होतंय.

'Rebooting Kolhapur' अशा आशयाचा संदेश सध्या सोशल मीडियावर पाठवला जातोय. पुन्हा एकदा उभं राहण्यासाठी बळ देण्याचा यामागे उद्देश आहे.

ठिकठिकाणच्या मंडळाच्या कार्यकर्त्यांनी चौकाचौकात ट्रॅफिकला शिस्त लावावी असाही संदेश सोशल मीडियावर व्हायरल झाला आहे.

आजारी लोकांना विनामूल्य औषधोपचार मिळावेत यासाठी सुविधा उपलब्ध करुन दिल्या जात आहेत

अनेक ठिकाणी पुराचं पाणी आल्याने लोकांची घरं, घरातलं सामान, कागदपत्रे, मोबाईल, दुचाकी, चारचाकी पाण्यात होत्या. यावरही विनामूल्य सेवा देण्यासाठी इथं अनेक जण सरसावले आहेत.

कोल्हापूर हे शहर आपल्या वेगळेपणासाठी प्रसिद्ध आहे. हे वेगळेपण खाद्यसंस्कृती, क्रीडा संस्कृती किंवा सिनेसृष्टीतील स्थान अशा वेगवेगळ्या स्तरांतून झळकत आलंय.

कोल्हापूरच्या खाद्य संस्कृतीत एक दबदबा आहे. कुठेही गेलात तरी अगदी परदेशातही कोल्हापुरी या नावाने असंख्य खाद्यपदार्थ उपलब्ध असतात.

याच कोल्हापूरमध्ये पूरपरिस्थिती मध्येही कुणी उपाशी राहिलं नाही. बाहेरून येणाऱ्या मदतीची वाट न पाहता लोकानी स्वखर्चाने अतिशय उत्तम असं जेवण पुरग्रस्तांसाठी उपलब्ध करून दिलं.

याच कोल्हापूर जिल्ह्यातल्या प्रयाग चिखली या गावाला पुराचा फटका बसला आहे. या गावात एक फलक उभा करत संवेदनशील संदेश देण्याचा प्रयत्न करण्यात आला आहे तर कुणी सोशल मीडियावर कवितेच्या माध्यमातून भावना व्यक्त केल्या.
