सहमतीने घडणाऱ्या शरीरसंबंधांमध्ये हिंसाचार वाढत असल्याचं नुकत्याच करण्यात आलेल्या एका सर्वेक्षणातून पुढे आलं आहे. बीबीसी रेडियोच्या 5 Live या कार्यक्रमाने यूकेमध्ये हे सर्वेक्षण केलं गेलं.
सर्वेक्षण करण्यात आलेल्या महिलांपैकी एक तृतियांश महिलांनी शरीर संबंधांवेळी मारझोड, गळा आवळणे, तोंड दाबणे किंवा थुंकणे, असे प्रकार अनुभवल्याचं म्हटलं आहे.
यापैकी कुठल्याही प्रकारच्या हिंसेचा सामना कराव्या लागलेल्या 20% महिलांनी या प्रकारामुळे आपण घाबरल्याचं किंवा शारीरिक त्रास झाल्याचं सांगितलं.
23 वर्षीय अॅना सांगते की तीन वेगवेगळ्या प्रसंगी तीन वेगवेगळ्या पुरूषांसोबत सहमतीने ठेवलेल्या शरीरसबंधांवेळी तिला अशाप्रकारच्या अवांछित हिंसेचा सामना करावा लागला आहे. आपले केस ओढण्यात आले. मारझोड करण्यात आली. गळाही आवळला, असं ती सांगते.

ती म्हणते, "हे माझ्यासाठी खूप धक्कादायक होतं. मला खूप अस्वस्थ आणि भीती वाटली. भररस्त्यात जर कुणी मारहाण केली किंवा तुमचा गळा आवळला तर तुम्ही त्याला अत्याचार म्हणता."
अॅना जेव्हा तिच्य मैत्रिणींशी याविषयी बोलली तेव्हा तिच्या लक्षात आलं शरीरसंबंधांदरम्यान होणारी हिंसा किती सामान्य बाब बनली आहे.
अॅना म्हणते, "तेव्हा मला कळलं की जवळपास सगळेच पुरूष यापैकी एखादी तरी कृती करतातच."
एकदा एका मुलाने सेक्सदरम्यान कुठलीही कल्पना न देता किंवा आपली संमती न घेता आपला गळा आवळण्याचा प्रयत्न केला होता, असंही ती सांगते.
यावर्षीच आपलं पदवीचं शिक्षण पूर्ण करणारी अॅना सांगते की एकदा तिच्या एका जोडीदाराने तिला इतक्या वाईट पद्धतीने हाताळलं की तिच्या गुप्तांगाला जखम झाली आणि पुढे अनेक दिवस तिला त्रास होत होता.
ती म्हणते, "मला माहिती आहे की काही मुलींना हे आवडतं. मात्र, प्रत्येकीलाच हे आवडतं, असं वाटणं चुकीचं आहे."
सर्वेक्षण करणाऱ्या Savanta ConRes या कंपनीने आपल्या सर्व्हेमध्ये यूकेमधील 18 ते 39 या वयोगटातील 2002 स्त्रियांची मतं जाणून घेतली.

सहमतीने झालेल्या शरीरसंबंधावेळी मारझोड, गळा आवळणे, तोंड दाबणे किंवा थुंकणे असे प्रकार तुमच्याबाबतीत घडले आहेत का आणि त्याला तुमची संमती होती का, असे प्रश्न या महिलांना विचारण्यात आले.
यापैकी एक तृतियांशपेक्षा जास्त (38%) महिलांनी आपण अशा हिंसेला सामोरं गेल्याचं आणि किमान काही वेळा तरी त्यासाठी आपली संमती नव्हती, असं सांगितलं.
दोन तृतियांशपेक्षा कमी (31%) महिलांनी असे अनुभव घेतले आणि त्यासाठी संमती होती, असं सांगितलं.
तर तेवढ्याच महिलांनी (31%) आपल्याला असा अनुभव नाही किंवा माहिती नाही किंवा काहीही बोलायचं नाही, असं सांगितलं.
याविषयी बीबीसीशी बोलताना सेंटर फॉर वुमेन्स जस्टिस संस्थेने सांगितलं की या आकडेवारीवरून "तरुण स्त्रियांवर शरीरसंबंधावेळी हिंसात्मक, घातक आणि अपमानकारक कृती करण्यास सहमती दर्शवण्याचा दबाव वाढत आहे," हे स्पष्ट होतं.
ते म्हणतात, "पॉर्नोग्राफीची सहज आणि सार्वत्रिक उपलब्धता, त्याचं सामान्यीकरण आणि वापर यामुळे हे होत असावं."
वुमन्स ऍड संस्थेच्या सहप्रमुख अडीना क्लेअर म्हणतात यावरून हे स्पष्ट होतं की "40 वर्षांपेक्षा कमी वयाच्या स्त्रिया सर्रास लैंगिक हिंसाचाराचा सामना करत आहेत. ज्या जोडीदारासोबत त्या सहमतीने शरीरसंबंध ठेवू इच्छितात तोच त्यांना अपमानित करतो, त्यांना घाबरवतो."
"एखाद्यासोबत स्वतःच्या मर्जीने शरीरसंबंध ठेवले म्हणून मारझोड किंवा गळा आवळण्याचं समर्थन होऊ शकत नाही."
'मी खूप घाबरले'
अॅना नुकतीच एका लाँग टर्म रिलेशनशीपमधून बाहेर पडली आहे आणि नुकताच तिने वन-नाईट स्टँडचा अनुभव घेतला आहे.
ती सांगते, "सेक्स करताना त्याने मला न सांगता माझा गळा आवळायला सुरुवात केली. मला खूपच धक्का बसला आणि मी खूप घाबरले. पण, तो काहीही करेल या भीतीने मी त्यावेळी काहीच म्हटलं नाही."
यासाठी ती पॉर्नोग्राफीला जबाबदार ठरवते.
ती म्हणते, "मला वाटलं त्याने हे सगळं ऑनलाईन बघितलं असणार आणि त्याला प्रत्यक्षातही तसंच करून बघायचं होतं."
या सर्वेक्षणातून असंही लक्षात आलं की सेक्सदरम्यान हिंसाचाराचा सामना करणाऱ्यांपैकी 42% महिलांना दबाव, बळजबरी किंवा सक्ती जाणवली.
हिंसेचं 'सामान्यीकरण'
स्टेव्हन पोप हे सेक्स आणि रिलेशनशीप विषयात स्पेशलायझेशन केलेले सायकोथेरपिस्ट आहेत.
बीबीसी रेडियोच्या 5 Live कार्यक्रमात बोलताना ते म्हणाले की अशा कृत्यांचा नकारात्मक परिणाम झालेली अनेक प्रकरणं त्यांच्याकडे जवळपास रोजच येतात.
ते पुढे म्हणतात, "ही एकप्रकारची सायलंट साथ आहे. लोक हे करतात कारण त्यांना वाटतं हे असंच करायचं असतं. मात्र, हे खूप घातक ठरू शकतं. अशा प्रकारांमुळे नातेसंबंधाचं अवमूल्यन होत आहे. मात्र, त्याहूनही वाईट म्हणजे हिंसेला मान्यता मिळत आहे."
अशा प्रकारची कृत्यं करणाऱ्यांना त्याच्या संभाव्य धोक्याची कल्पना नाही, असंही ते सांगतात.
ते म्हणतात, "लोक माझ्याकडे अगदी शेवटच्या क्षणी येतात. म्हणजे गळा आवळण्याची कृती धोक्याच्या पातळीच्याही पुढे गेल्यावर आणि बराच वेळ बेशुद्ध राहिल्यानंतर लोक माझ्याकडे येतात."
"गळा आवळणे या प्रकारात हाय-रिस्क असते. मात्र, लोक त्याचा अगदी शेवटी विचार करतात."
हा सर्व्हे "विशेष घाबरवणारा आहे", असं फिओना मॅकेन्झी म्हणतात.
त्या म्हणतात, "सहमतीने सेक्स करताना पुरुषांकडून गळा दाबणे, मारहाण करणे, थुंकणे, शिवीगाळ करणे किंवा बुक्की मारणे, असे प्रकार होत असल्याचं मी महिलांकडून नेहमीच ऐकते. अनेक प्रकरणांमध्ये सुरुवातीला महिलांना हे कळतच नाही की हा अत्याचार आहे."
शरीरसंबंधांदरम्यान हिंसाचाराने पातळी ओलांडल्याने महिलेचा मृत्यू होण्याचं प्रमाण वाढू लागल्यानंतर त्यांनी 'We Can't Conset to This' (आम्ही याला संमती देऊ शकत नाही) नावाने एक मोहीम उघडली. कारण, अशा अनेक प्रकरणांमध्ये आरोपी असा युक्तीवाद सादर करतात की शरीरसंबंधांदरम्यान हिंसात्मक कृतीमुळे जरी महिलेचा मृत्यू झाला असला तरी अशा हिंसेसाठी तिची स्वतःची संमती होती.
अॅना हिच्या मते, "सेक्स खूप पुरूष केंद्रीत होत चाललं आहे. शरीरसंबंध इतके 'पॉर्नोफाईड' झाले आहेत की त्यात स्त्रियांना काही स्थानच उरलेलं नाही."
शरीरसंबंधांदरम्यानच्या हिंसेचं 'सामान्यीकरण' झाल्याचंही ती म्हणते.
"ते सामान्य तरुण होते. त्यांच्यात काहीच साम्य नव्हतं. मात्र, मला वाटतं ते कायम पॉर्न बघायचे. ते तसं बघतात आणि त्यांना वाटत स्त्रिला हेच हवं असतं. मात्र, स्त्रिला विचारण्याची तसदी ते घेत नाहीत."
22 वर्षांची ब्रिटीश बॅकपॅकर ग्रेस मिलान हिचाही अशाच सेक्सदरम्यान मृत्यू झाल्याची घटना ताजी आहे. अशाच घटनांच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर हे सर्वेक्षण करण्यात आलं आहे.
