एन -95, 3- पदरी आणि कापडी मास्कपेक्षा हे अधिक प्रभावी:
थ्रीडी प्रिंटिंग आणि फार्मास्युटिकल्सच्या एकत्रीकरणातून नवीन प्रकारचा मास्क तयार करण्यात आले आहे. पुण्यातील थिंकर टेक्नोलॉजीज इंडिया प्रायव्हेट लिमिटेड या स्टार्ट अप कंपनीने विकसित केलेल्या या मास्कना बाहेरून विरुसाईड्स या विषाणूरोधक घटकांचे आवरण करण्यात आले आहे.
व्हायरुसीडल मास्क प्रकल्प हा केंद्र सरकारच्या विज्ञान आणि तंत्रज्ञान विभागाची वैधानिक संस्था असलेल्या तंत्रज्ञान विकास मंडळाकडून व्यावसायीकरणासाठी आर्थिक सहाय्य मिळालेल्या आणि कोविड विरोधातील लढाईतील सुरुवातीच्या प्रकल्पापैकी एक आहे.
कोविड विरोधातील लढाईत नवनवीन उपाय शोधण्याच्या प्रक्रीयेअंतर्गत या प्रकल्पाला मे 2020 तंत्रज्ञान विकास मंडळाकडून अर्थसहाय्य देण्यात आले. त्यानुसार 8 जुलै, 2020 रोजी करारावर स्वाक्षऱ्या झाल्या. हे किफायतशीर आणि अधिक कार्यक्षम मास्क कोविड -19 चा प्रसार रोखण्यात सामान्य एन -95, 3-प्लाय आणि कापडी मास्कचा तुलनेत अधिक प्रभावी आहेत असा दावा 2016 मध्ये स्थापन झालेल्या या कंपनीने केला आहे.
थिंकर टेक्नोलॉजीज इंडिया ही कंपनी नवीन फार्मास्युटिकल फॉर्म्युलेशन्स आणि विविध औषधांचे ड्रग्स-लोडेड फिलामेंट्स शोधण्यासाठी फ्यूजड डिपोझिशन मॉडेलिंग (एफडीएम) थ्रीडी- प्रिंटर्स विकसित करण्याचे काम करते. संस्थापक संचालक डॉ. शितलकुमार झांबड म्हणाले “आम्ही महामारीच्या प्रारंभीच्या काळात या समस्येचा आणि त्यावरील संभाव्य उपायावर विचार करण्यास सुरवात केली. तेव्हा लक्षात आले की संसर्ग रोखण्यासाठी फेस मास्क सर्वात महत्त्वाचे साधन म्हणून सर्वत्र वापरला जाईल. बहुतेक मास्क जे त्यावेळी उपलब्ध होते आणि सामान्य माणसांच्या आवाक्यात होते ते घरगुती कापडी आणि तुलनेने कमी गुणवत्तेचे होते असे आम्हाला आढळले.
