अनेक राष्ट्रीय-आंतरराष्ट्रीय चित्रपट पुरस्कार महोत्सवात आपला ठसा उमटवणाऱ्या 'खिसा' या चित्रपटाने एम टाऊनसह बॉलिवूडकरांनाही भुरळ पाडली आहे. एका ज्वलंत विषयावर भाष्य करणाऱ्या या 'खिसा'चे दिग्दर्शन राज प्रीतम मोरे यांनी केले आहे. सर जे. जे. स्कूल ऑफ आर्टस् मधून पदवी घेणाऱ्या राज मोरे यांनी 'खिसा'च्या माध्यमातून दिग्दर्शन क्षेत्रात पाऊल ठेवले. दिग्दर्शनाची कोणतीही पार्श्वभूमी,अनुभव पाठीशी नसताना पहिल्याच प्रयत्नात आपला चित्रपट सातासमुद्रापार नेणाऱ्या राज मोरे यांचा चित्रकार ते चित्रपट दिग्दर्शकपर्यंतचा प्रवास निश्चितच रंजक आहे.
आपल्या या प्रवासाबद्दल राज मोरे सांगतात, ''ज्यावेळी मी जे. जे. स्कूल ऑफ आर्ट्सला प्रवेश घेतला, तेव्हा मला फिल्ममेकरच व्हायचे होते. कॉलेजमध्ये असतानाच मी प्रादेशिक सिनेमांचा अभ्यास सुरु केला होता. एफटीआयला जायचेच या उद्देशाने मी फोटोग्राफी या विषयासाठी प्रवेश घेतला होता. हे करत असताना चित्रकार होण्याचेही डोक्यात होतेच. कारण अनेकांकडून माझी चित्रे वेगळी असतात, या प्रतिक्रिया यायच्या. एनएसडीचे माजी संचालक इब्राहिम अलकाझी यांनीही माझे काम बघून मला पत्र लिहिले होते. त्या पत्रामुळे माझी चित्रकार होण्याची इच्छा अधिकच प्रबळ झाली. तरीही फिल्ममेकिंग करायचेच होते. मी एफटीआयला प्रवेश परीक्षा पास झालो मात्र दुर्दैवाने प्रवेशाला मुकलो. अशा वेळी एक दिशा निवडणे गरजेचे होते. मग मी चित्रकार होण्याचे ठरवले. चित्रकारितेत नाव कमावल्यानंतर आता पुन्हा फिल्ममेकिंग शांत बसू देत नव्हते. त्यामुळे मी पुन्हा माझ्या स्वप्नांचा माग घेऊ लागलो. त्यातून 'खिसा'चा जन्म झाला. ही शॉर्टफिल्म म्हणजे माझ्या चित्रकारितेचा विस्तार आहे, असे मी समजतो.'' आपल्या 'खिसा' या शॉर्टफिल्मबद्दल ते म्हणाले, माझा चित्रांमध्ये जसे आजूबाजूच्या परिस्थितीचे दर्शन घडते , त्याप्रमाणेच अलीकडच्या काळात घडणाऱ्या सामाजिक आणि राजकीय घडामोडींची कथा यात सांगण्यात आली आहे. आजही समाजात जात आणि धर्माला विशेष महत्त्व दिले जाते. एकंदरच आपण इतिहासावर अनेकदा भाष्य करतो. आपण नेहमीच आपल्या महापुरुषांनी दिलेल्या शिकवणीचा वापर आपल्या स्वार्थी गरजांसाठी केला आहे आणि 'खिसा'ची कथा याच मुद्द्यावर प्रकाश टाकणारी आहे.''

विविध चित्रपट महोत्सव 'खिसा'ची दखल घेत असतानाच सिनेसृष्टीतील नामवंतांनीही राज मोरे यांच्यावर कौतुकाचा वर्षाव केला आहे. प्रसिद्ध दिग्दर्शक रवी जाधव म्हणतात, ''मुळात राजच्या चित्रांचा मी चाहता आहे आणि जेव्हा मला कळले की राज शॉर्टफिल्म बनवतोय, तेव्हाच मला समजले हे काहीतरी हटके असणार. हा लघुपट मी पाहिला. यात छोट्या छोट्या गोष्टी अत्यंत बारकाईने टिपण्यात आल्या आहे. मी राजला तेव्हाच म्हणालो होतो, हा लघुपट अनेक चित्रपट महोत्सवांत बाजी मारेल आणि तसेच घडले.'' अभिनेते किशोर कदम यांनीही 'खिसा'ला शुभेच्छा देत हा लघुपट अप्रतिम असून यातील काही दृश्यच शब्दांपेक्षा खूप काही बोलून जातात. पार्श्वसंगीत, छायाचित्रण, चित्रीकरण स्थळ या सगळ्याच गोष्टी लघुपटाला अत्यंत साजेशा आहेत, या शब्दांत कौतुक केले आहे.
''एक शिक्षक म्हणून मी राजची शॉर्टफिल्म पाहिली आणि मी त्यातून एकही चूक काढू शकलो नाही. ज्वलंत विषय असतानाही खूप वेगळ्या पद्धतीने तो हाताळण्यात आला आहे. कलाकारांनीही त्यांच्या भूमिका चोख पार पाडल्या आहेत. छोट्या कॅमेरावर आणि नैसर्गिक प्रकाशात चित्रित झालेली ही शॉर्टफिल्म खरोखरच पुरस्कारांसाठी पात्र आहे.'' अशी प्रतिक्रिया राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार विजेते सिनेमॅटोग्राफर महेश अनेय यांनी दिली तर 'दि नेमसेक', ऑस्कर नामांकित 'सलाम बॉम्बे', मिसिसिप्पी मसाला यांच्या पटकथा लिहिणाऱ्या सोनी तारापोरवाला म्हणाल्या, ''इतका सुंदर लघुपट केल्याबद्दल प्रथम अभिनंदन. मुलांच्या निरागस दृष्टीतून प्रौढांचा वैचारिक, धार्मिक संघर्ष उत्कृष्टरित्या दाखवण्यात आला आहे. खूप काही शिकवून जाणारा हा लघुपट आहे. लहान मुलाचा अभिनय अप्रतिम. असेच चित्रपट बनवत राहा.'' याव्यतिरिक्त ॲड गुरु रवी देशपांडे, सिनेमॅटोग्राफर मिलिंद जोग, चित्रपट समीक्षक अशोक राणे यांच्यासह अनेक मान्यवरांनी 'खिसा'चे भरभरून कौतुक केले आहे.
