कृष्णाचे वैशिष्ट्ये व कार्य

जन्म ते नामकरण

देवकी व वसुदेव हे कृष्णाचे माता व पिता होत. देवकीच्या सातव्या गर्भाला योगमायेने विष्णूच्या आज्ञेवरून वसुदेवाची दुसरी पत्‍नी रोहिणी हिच्या गर्भात प्रविष्ट केले व ती स्वत: देवकीच्या गर्भात राहिली.
जन्मानंतर कंस जेव्हा तिला मारायला निघाला तेव्हा त्याच्या हातातून निसटून ती स्वस्थानी गेली. देवकीचा आठवा पुत्र म्हणजे कृष्ण होय. जन्मानंतर वसुदेव त्याला गोकुळात नंद- यशोदा यांच्या घरी घेऊन गेला. वसुदेवाने रोहिणीलाही तिच्या पुत्रासह गोकुळात पाठवून दिले. यदूंचे पुरोहित असलेल्या गर्गमुनींनी वसुदेवाच्या सांगण्यावरून दोन मुलांचे गुप्‍तपणे नामकरण केले. त्यांनी रोहिणीच्या पुत्राचे `राम' व देवकीच्या पुत्राचे `कृष्ण' असे नामकरण केले. पुढे रामात असलेल्या प्रचंड शक्‍तीमुळे त्याला `बलराम' म्हणू लागले.

वयाच्या सातव्या वर्षी कृष्ण मथुरेला कंसवधासाठी गेला. तेव्हाच त्याचे बालपण संपले होते. मथुरेच्या आसपासच्या भूभागाला काजभूमी म्हणतात. `काजिन्त गावो यस्मिन्निति काज: ।' म्हणजे जिथे गायी चरतात, फिरतात, तो काजप्रदेश होय. बालकृष्णाच्या लीला याच प्रदेशात झाल्यामुळे या प्रदेशाला पुण्यभूमी मानले जाते.

३. बुद्धिमान

कंसवधानंतर उपनयन झाल्यावर राम-कृष्ण अवंती नगरीतील गुरु सांदीपनि यांच्या आश्रमात गेले. तेथे कृष्ण चौसष्ट दिवसांत चौदा विद्या व चौसष्ट कला शिकला. सर्वसाधारणत: एक विद्या शिकायला दोन ते अडीच वर्षे लागत असत.

४. मोठ्यांनी सल्ला ऐकणे

वयाने मोठे असलेल्यांशीही कृष्णाचा जवळचा संबंध होता. वयाच्या अवघ्या सातव्या वर्षी कृष्णाने गौळणींना मथुरेला जाऊ दिले नाही; कारण दुष्ट कंसाला दूध विकून मिळणारे पैसे त्याला नको होते. तेव्हापासून मोठी माणसे त्याचा सल्ला मानायला लागली व त्यांच्या विश्‍वासाला तो पूर्णपणे उतरला.

५. अनुभूती देणे

एकदा गोपांनी यशोदेला सांगितले की, कृष्णाने माती खाल्ली. त्यावर तिने कृष्णाला तोंड उघडण्यास सांगितले. कृष्णाने तसे करताच तिला त्याच्या मुखात विश्‍वरूपदर्शन झाले. अवतार बालपणापासूनच कार्य करतात, हे या उदाहरणावरून लक्षात येईल. शरद ऋतूतील एका चांदण्या रात्री कृष्णाने गोकुळातल्या गोपींसह रासक्रीडा केली. त्या वेळी गोपींना ब्रह्मानंदाची अनुभूती आली.
