आईच्या दुधाची तुलना अमृताशी करतात. मात्र, स्त्री शरीरात दूध ज्या नलिकांमधून येतं, त्या कशा दिसतात, हे फारच कमी लोकांना माहिती असेल. या 'दूध नलिका' म्हणजेच 'मिल्क डक्ट्स'चा एक फोटो सध्या इंटरनेटवर व्हायरल झाला आहे.
फुलांसारख्या दिसणाऱ्या या स्नायूंचा एक फोटो एका युजरने ट्विटरवर टाकला आणि जगभरातून त्यावर प्रतिक्रिया यायला लागल्या.
दूध नलिका? ते काय आहे? त्या अशा का दिसतात? माझ्या शरीरात खरंच अशा नलिका आहेत का? मला असे वक्षच नको. अशा वेगवेगळ्या प्रकारच्या प्रतिक्रिया ट्विटरवर ओसंडून वाहत आहेत.
दूध तयार करणाऱ्या ग्रंथी वेगवेगळे भाग आणि छोट्या छोट्या ट्यूबमध्ये विभागल्या असतात. या प्रत्येक ट्यूबमधून नलिकांद्वारे हे दूध स्तनाग्रांपर्यंत पोहोचतं. मात्र, वक्षामधून दूध बाहेर येण्याची ही रचना नेमकी कशी आहे, हे खूप कमी जणांना माहिती आहे आणि त्यामुळेच इंटरनेटवर व्हायरल झालेल्या या फोटोवर आलेल्या प्रतिक्रियांपैकी बऱ्याच नकारार्थी आहेत. अनेकांना स्तनांची ही प्रतिमा स्वीकारणं कठीण जातंय.

हा फोटो अगदी काही दिवसांत खूप मोठ्या प्रमाणावर ट्रेंड झाला आणि त्याला 1,30,000 लाईक्स मिळाले. काही जणांसाठी हा फोटो धक्कादायक होता. हा फोटो बघून भीती वाटल्याचं काहींनी लिहिलं.
मात्र, स्तनपान या कृतीवषयी जो आदर सर्वत्र आहे, त्यामुळे अनेकांना या चित्रात निसर्गदत्त सौंदर्यही दिसलं. विशेष म्हणजे स्तनपान करणाऱ्या मातांनी फारच सकारात्मक आणि आनंददायी प्रतिक्रिया व्यक्त केल्या आहेत.
बाळाला जन्म दिल्यानंतर या ग्रंथी दूध निर्मिती करायला सुरुवात करतात आणि आई बाळाला स्तनपान करू शकते. अनेकांनी तर शाळा-कॉलेजच्या अभ्यासक्रमात हे चित्र कधीच समाविष्ट का करण्यात आलं नाही? जीवशास्त्राच्या पुस्तकांमध्ये केवळ पुरूषाच्या शरीर रचना असलेलं चित्र का दाखवतात?, असे प्रश्नही विचारले.
तर या फोटोवरून काहींनी विनोदही केले. मात्र, दुधाच्या नलिकांविषयी आजवर केवळ लिखित माहिती असणाऱ्यांना त्या नेमक्या कशा दिसतात, हेही या चित्रावरून कळलं आहे.
