गेले काही दिवस सतत कोसळत असलेल्या पावसामुळे कोल्हापूर जिल्ह्यात पूरसदृश परिस्थिती निर्माण झाली आहे. जिल्ह्यातले सर्व नद्या, नाले, ओढे तुडुंब भरले असून हे पाणी सखल भागात साचत असल्याने शेकडो कुटुंबांना सुरक्षित ठिकाणी हलवावं लागत आहे.

कोल्हापूर जिल्ह्यातील पंचगंगा नदीची पाणी पातळी 51 फुटांच्या वर गेल्यामुळे नदीचं पाणी शहरातल्या अनेक भागात घुसले आहे. कृष्णा, वारणा, भोगावती दुधगंगा, कुंभी कासारी सरस्वती अशा सर्व नद्या तुडुंब भरून वाहत आहेत.

कोल्हापूर जिल्ह्यातील 107 बंधारे पाण्याखाली गेल्यामुळे अनेक गावांचा संपर्क तुटला आहे. पंचगंगा नदीची पाणी पातळी 51 फुटांवर गेली आहे. याआधी 1989 आणि 2005 साली कोल्हापूरमध्ये महापूर आला होता.

त्यावेळी पंचगंगेच्या पाण्याची पातळी 50 आणि 48 फूट होती. त्यावेळी धरणातून पाणी विसर्ग कमी होता. सध्या मात्र अलमट्टी धरणातून पुढे लाखो लिटर पाण्याचा विसर्ग सुरू आहे.

धरणातून विसर्गासोबतच पावसाचं प्रमाण जास्त असल्यानं गंभीर पूरस्थिती निर्माण झाली आहे. कोल्हापूरसह सातारा आणि सांगली जिल्ह्याला देखील पुराच्या पाण्याने विळखा घातला आहे. रात्री 12 वाजल्यापासून पुणे-बेंगळुरू राष्ट्रीय महामार्ग पूर्णपणे बंद करण्यात आला आहे.

सातारा ते कागल या दरम्यान ठिकठिकाणी पुराचं पाणी रस्त्यावर आल्यामुळे कोल्हापूर, बेळगाव बेंगळूरूकडे जाणारी वाहतूक पूर्णपणे ठप्प झाली आहे. महामार्गावर वाहनांच्या लांबच लांब रांगा लागल्या आहेत

सर्व व्यवहार ठप्प

जिल्ह्यातल्या अनेक गावांना देखील पुराच्या पाण्याचा फटका बसला आहे. अनेक गावांमध्ये पुराचे पाणी गेल्याने सर्व व्यवहार ठप्प झाले आहेत. दररोज दूध संकलन बंद असल्याने शेतकऱ्यांना दूध घरीच ठेवावे लागतंय. पीकं पाण्याखाली गेल्याने शेतकऱ्यांना भयंकर नुकसान सहन करावं लागत आहे.

कोल्हापूर शहरासह जिल्ह्यात 8 ऑगस्ट पर्यंत पावसाचा जोर कायम राहण्याचा अंदाज हवामान खात्याने दिला आहे.

कोल्हापूर, सांगली जिल्ह्यात पूरस्थिती हाताळण्यासाठी NDRFची पथकं दाखल झाली आहेत. जिल्हा प्रशासनाने बोटींच्या साहाय्याने पुराच्या पाण्यातून शेकडो लोकांना बाहेर काढण्याचं काम अहोरात्र सुरू आहे. कोल्हापूरचे जिल्हाधिकारी कार्यालय देखील पुराच्या पाण्याने वेढलं गेलं आहे.

धरणक्षेत्रात मुसळधार पाऊस

जिल्ह्यातील धरणक्षेत्रात मुसळधार पाऊस सुरु आहे. राधानगरी धरणाचे सातही स्वयंचलित दरवाजे उघडे आहेत. तरीही पाण्याचं प्रमाण जास्त असल्याने आपत्कालीन दरवाजातून देखील पाणी सोडलं जात आहे.

कोयना धरणातूनही पाण्याचा विसर्ग वाढवण्यात आला आहे. प्रशासनाकडून सर्व ठिकाणी रेड अलर्ट घोषित करण्यात आला आहे. नदीकाठच्या गावांना सतर्कतेचा इशारा देण्यात आला आहे.
